Ardis Lukens, President

You guessed it – Ardis is passionate about dogs and rescue. She has been involved with dogs in various venues and breeds most of her life.

She lives in the Philadelphia suburbs with two Border Collies, an Aussie and two Jacks as well as fosters that come and go. She also has a cat who is about 2,145,873 years old and refuses to die.

She has been with Mid-Atlantic Jack Rescue since before it was Mid-Atlantic Rescue. She began her history with rescuing Jack Russells about 10 years ago when she adopted an old Jack Russell who she named GuyZer. From there she began volunteering and fostering for Russell Rescue/ JRTCA. Six years ago, when the rescue decided to become a separate entity, she was one of the founding members and the Vice President for 4 years. She became the President in 2017.

As the President, she attends almost all events and fundraisers. She also fosters, transports and assesses dogs for the organization.

When she is not doing Jack Russell stuff, she plays dog agility with her dogs. She’s been involved in the sport for about 25 years. Ardis is also a very active in her community.
